MC330: Serial to Ethernet Converter

Serial to Ethernet Converter MC330 This device converts RS232 or RS485/RS422 communication channels to enable data transmission over Ethernet networks, effectively eliminating the limitations typically associated with serial port connections. The MC330 is suitable for a wide range of applications, such as extending signal transmission distances, replacing serial communication channels, or adding serial communication ports.
Examples of devices with serial communication interfaces include digital scales, fingerprint scanners, barcode scanners, power meters, PLCs, data loggers, etc.
Consider this application scenario: initially, a computer and a fingerprint scanner are connected via an RS232 port over a distance of approximately 10 meters. Later, the requirement arises to relocate the computer to a control room about 100 meters away, while Ethernet network access is available at both the computer's new location and the scanner's location. In this case, the MC330 can be used to resolve the issue by connecting it to the scanner via the RS232 port and linking it to the Ethernet network, while installing serial port emulation software on the computer.
The company has included the Virtual Serial Port Emulator (WisVSP) program in the installation package to simulate serial ports on the computer; this program allows users to access and control the created serial ports just like physical serial ports.
